Kaelly the Nether Strider, Wandering Minstrel, Kinoshrooms, Claw Trainers and Ser Sharpclaw

I’ve gone a bit crazy painting Super Dungeon Explore lately. This time of year is normally when my painter’s block/apathy kicks in, but this year I seem to be in overdrive!

First up is Kaelly the Nether Strider, whose hero version the Nether Assassin is quickly becoming one of my favourites. Her potion is a lifesaver!

Next is the Wandering Minstrel. I’m actually using him as a tank; he generates a ton of wrath with his potion and supportive actions and by loading him up with Dex equipment he can dodge out of harm’s way.

I’ve started painting minions from the Emerald Valley set. First up are the Kinoshrooms.

Finally I’ve finished the Claw Trainers

And Ser Sharpclaw from the Claw of the Wyrm warband.

I converted him by adding reins.

Brave-Mode Candy and Never-Lost Cola

This week I finished painting Brave-Mode Candy and since she’s never seen without her pet kitsune, I finished up Never-Lost Cola as well. Candy is the mascot for Soda Pop Miniatures so I wanted to keep to the traditional colour scheme. I did slightly modify her eyes as I believe the pre-sculpted irises have a tendency to give her a cross-eyed look.

Dragon Blade

The colours in the original card artwork for the Dragon Blade were various hues of blues and greens. I prefer a more limited palate so I tried to mix up a colour between the green and blue and ended up with aqua.

His cloak provided a good opportunity to demonstrate the layering technique for my next video which I’ll be posting next week.

Tabbybrook Mage

There is a community painting event happening on Facebook at the moment where everyone is painting up a Tabbybrook Mage. I really enjoy seeing different painting styles and the different takes people have on the same model.

I’ve been painting my own Freyjans to be more cat-like so my Tabbybrook is a Siamese.

I also modified her a little because I did not like the way she was sitting on the base. I ended up removing almost 3mm from the bottom of her dress, but she now matches up more closely to her Freyjan sisters in height.

If you want to join the Facebook event, you still have until the end of March to post your painted Tabbybrook Mage. Thanks for reading! Likes/shares/comments are appreciated.
