I think the kobold Gougers from first edition are the oldest super dungeon models, and the designs have come a long way since them. I wasn’t sure what was on their arms, so I decided to paint bandages to match the Flingers from the same unit.
I’ve been in a painting slump recently, so I tried something different to get myself out of it. I painted with some weird colours I wouldn’t normally use.
Her hair is a mix of green, brown and grey. Her clothing is a mix of purple, blue and white, and her obi is a mix of navy and scarlet. I didn’t like how the green leaves clashed with the peach in the card art, so I painted the leaves as pink petals instead. I find it hard to paint now as I’ve lost a lot of fine motor control and it frustrates me that I can’t paint something that I would have been able to in the past.
Aurelia is a crossover mini from Super Dungeon x Way of the Fighter. She has a lot of jewellery details and her pose inside the weapon made it very tricky to paint her. It’s hard to tell from the photo but her weapon is colourshift paint (silver to purple). I like how her skin turned out.
I paint my Freyjans to be more-catlike and have wanted to paint black cat for a while now. As a pirate, Scarlett was the prefect choice, but I wanted to keep her name-sake red hair. Since I couldn’t decide between black or red, I went with both!
The band-aid on her face gave me the idea to give her a black eye. I’ve never painted a bruise before… This is one of those times I feel looks better in person.
I experimented with the glow on the Kabombs by glazing the metallic with white before the glow pigment to try to make the colour pop. Not sure how much it helped.
They absolutely murdered us in our most recent game. Scary….
