Converted Arcanist Mechaniks, Sylys Wyshnalyrr and Magister Helynna

I’ve converted a few Retribution of Scyrah models lately. First up are my second and third Arcanist Mechaniks (See previous post here)

I didn’t like Sylys Wyshnalyrr’s original pose so I swapped his legs with a Reaper Bones miniature.

I only slightly converted Magister Helynna by sculpting her hair.

The pulled-back mohawk + tattoo look was inspired by Jack from Mass Effect 3.

Pistol Wraith and Scarlock Thrall

The new Satyxis Gunslingers are out and even though I don’t plan on playing my Cryx again anytime soon, I wanted to paint them. So I finished up the last of my unpainted Cryx models. My Pistol Wraith:

Sentinels and Aspis

I’ve been painting quite a few Retribution of Scyrah models lately in preparation for a new Journeyman League my local club is starting this month. First up are the hard-hitting and highly armoured Sentinels:

For the second Journeyman event we need to add a warjack between 5 and 10 points to our battlegroup. I chose the Aspis so that I can have more points to spend next time.

Arcanist Mechanik Conversions

The Arcanist Mechanik is a great Retribution solo. I wanted the maximum of allowance of three but they only come in one sculpt:

So I wanted to convert the other two. For the first, I was inspired by the following artwork by Chris Walton:

I removed the tool from his left hand, re-angled the arm, added a mug and filled in the arm with putty. I removed his right hand and replaced the tool, sculpting the hand. I also added a cigarette to his mouth. I actually drilled it into his face to make sure that it doesn’t break off, and sculpted his lips around it.

Arcanist Conversion

The other was a more significant conversion. It’s a gender-swap with a lot of putty work. I made a mould of Kaelyssa’s face and shoulder-pad and scratch-built the rest of the torso. I had to rebuild some of the right hand and bottle-things as I removed them when making the torso.

Elara, Tyro of the Third Chamber

My gaming club is starting its Journeyman League in another month and I’ve decided to go with the Retribution of Scyrah this time. I started Ret in another Journeyman League back in mk2, but ended up burning out after 2 sessions. This time I’d like to get more use out of the angry elves.

This version of Elara is from the Tactics kickstarter. I decided to take a group shot of my Retribution because a lot of the old photos were taken with my smart phone, and even my new camera is having trouble with the black armour and white bases. I also added a little blood to make the colour scheme pop a bit more.
